Kadhi is a comforting gravy made with yogurt and gram flour, seasoned with spices. It's traditionally enjoyed in Indian and Pakistani cuisines. This recipe involves preparing a gravy, pakoras, and a tadka for extra flavor.
In a bowl, mix yogurt, besan, red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, and water. Set aside.
In a pot, heat oil and add small onion paste, methi dana, garlic cloves, turmeric, and red chili powder. Cook until oil separates.
Add the gravy mixture to the pot and stir well.
For the pakoras, mix besan, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, cumin powder, baking soda, and enough water to make a batter.
Heat oil in a pan and fry the pakoras until golden brown.
For the tadka, heat ghee and add curry leaves, sliced onion, whole coriander, whole cumin, sliced garlic, kashmiri red chilli powder, and salt.
Serve kadhi with pakoras and drizzle with tadka.
